College Test Preparation

The Bowie Center is the best place for a student to prepare for the ACT and/or SAT. With our many options, there is a program that will fit each student's needs and schedule. The sooner you contact us, the sooner your child will be on their way to achieving their best score!

Option 1: ACT or SAT Individual Ongoing Sessions

$70 per hour session & a one-time workbook fee of $25

When scheduling individual sessions, we suggest beginning once or twice a week and continuing ongoing sessions in one of the ACT or SAT subject areas. Once a student is ready to move on to a new subject, we will change the current subject and move on to the next. Sessions may be discontinued with a 24 hour notice. This is the most personalized approach to prepare for the ACT. Students may stay on one subject longer than another, depending on their strengths and weaknesses.

Option 2: Scheduling a Specific Number of ACT or SAT Individual Sessions

$70 per hour session & a one-time workbook fee of $25

Students may schedule a specific number of sessions in each subject area. We are happy to schedule any set number of sessions that the parent requests. For example, a parent may decide to schedule two or more sessions for each of the five areas of the ACT (English, Math, Reading, Science and Writing).

Option 3: ACT or SAT Select Student Groups

$55 per student for groups of 2-3 students or $40 per student for groups of 4-6 students, and a one-time workbook fee of $25 per student

If your child and his/her friends would like to come together as a group, we will customize a test prep program specifically for them. We will work around busy schedules to put together the best program to fit the needs of your student group.

Option 4: ACT Practice Tests without Tutoring

$15 per subject area or $45 for a full-length test

Students needing practice, but not wanting to schedule tutoring, may schedule a part or a full-length test for practice at the center. We must have 2-hour notice to prepare the test. Students will be given a quiet room to take their test. Tests will be scored and graded before the student leaves. Students may keep their practice tests and answer keys.

Option 5: ACT Practice Tests with Tutoring

Free

Students, who tutor for the ACT at Bowie, are allowed to take unlimited, free practice tests here at the center. We recommend planning a regular schedule of taking at least one section of the ACT every week. The best approach for a stronger score is a combination of practice and support. Students, who practice on a continual basis and meet with a tutor to review and work on questions missed, have the greatest success for achieving their personal best score.
