Registration Now Open for 2024-25 Academic Year Tutoring
August 1, 2024The Importance of the ACT
September 16, 2024Each August, students roll into a new academic year with sharpened pencils, uncluttered bookbags and the hope of what the next 300 days will bring. Questions abound about everything new! Who will my teachers be? Will I make new friends? How hard will be to make good grades?
Everyone begins the new academic year fresh and with a clean slate, but soon this can begin to collapse from all the homework assignments, quizzes, and tests. Students who don’t do well in school are often labeled as lazy, but truly everyone wants to be praised for success. Some may act like grades don’t really matter, but this is often a defense trying to control the narrative. Scheduling your student for weekly tutoring now, before things begin to get difficult, can keep the momentum going all year long.
Building self-confidence in each student is our main goal at Bowie. Students often walk in feeling deflated and thinking they don’t want academic help, but it usually doesn’t take long before they connect with their tutor and begin to see the benefits of consistent support. One-to-one sessions allow each child a full hour of undivided attention from their tutor. The relationship of the student to his/her tutor is often why our students enjoy their personal tutoring so much.
We call it “Personal Training for the Brain.” Our individual support will strengthen a child’s academic ability and achievement, through time, a plan and commitment. Nothing makes us happier, than to hear from our parents the positive difference they see in their child’s grades and attitude as a result of the support they receive at Bowie. This is our purpose and why we love what we do!
