The Bowie Center One-to-One Tutoring
Tutoring for Students with Any Adacemic Need
Our tutorial programs are designed to support students with any academic need. We serve both those struggling in school, as well as those who aim to improve test scores or move ahead of the traditional curriculum.
We support students of any age and in any subject. Currently, The Bowie Center has students as young as four, up to adulthood. We go to great lengths to match each student with an instructor who will best match his or her needs. Each student who schedules regular ongoing sessions will have the same tutor for each session, allowing a connection to develop between the student and his or her tutor. When a tutor isn't available for a session, you may choose to cancel the session, reschedule for another time, or choose to have a substitute tutor.
Specialty Reading Systems
The Bowie Center uses specialty programs in reading to support all learners. Each of our instructors is specifically trained to practice these programs. The Wilson Reading System has an excellent success rate in supporting students of any age who struggle with reading disorders, including dyslexia. Our Active Reading Program helps students strengthen comprehension by teaching them how to engage with text in a purposeful, organized, and confident way.
Strong Communication
One of the most distinguishing characteristics of The Bowie Center is our strong communication with each tutoring family. Each tutoring session is concluded with a personalized session summary written by the tutor and emailed to the parent within 24 hours. These individual reports recap the lessons covered in the session, provide observations by the tutor, and often list ideas for activities the student can do to help strengthen skills before their next session.
